Like other hospices across the province, we receive about 50 per cent funding from the province and the balance we raise through events like the hike, donations, bequests and many other events. We depend on the generous supporters from our friends in Renfrew County.

To replace the traditional hike held each May in Renfrew, a Virtual Hike will take place Saturday, October 10. The Eganville Leader traditionally has its own team and this year the Board Chair, Gerald Tracey decided to take a unique approach and partner with his friend John Yakabuski.  The Twins Team consists of John (Arnold Schartzenegger) Yakabuski and Gerald (Danny Devito) Tracey. The first leg of their ride will start in Eganville between 9:30 and 10 and will arrive in Douglas between 11 and 11:30 where they will have lunch. After lunch they will make their way to Renfrew where they will finish their journey. Their support system, Executive Director, Marjorie Joly and Clerical Assistant, Wendy Hewitt will help along the way to keep community members informed of the progress by social media, including photos.
