Student Maintenance Worker (Canada Summer Jobs)

The Maintenance Student assists with the upkeep of Hospice Renfrew’s building and grounds, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, families, staff, and volunteers. Responsibilities include performing light repairs, painting, and general maintenance tasks; supporting cleaning and event setup; and caring for the gardens and outdoor areas by planting, watering, weeding, mowing, and maintaining pathways. The student follows safety procedures, reports maintenance concerns promptly, and works collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the overall comfort and appearance of the hospice.

Position Description

Responsibilities:

• Performing light repairs, painting, and general maintenance tasks
• Light cleaning
• Assist with fundraising events
• Garden maintenance
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must be between 15 and 30 years at the start of employment
• Must be a post-secondary student returning to school in the fall
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance or willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely
• Reliability and good work ethic

Position Details:

• Full-time (35 hours/week)
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Start Date: June 1,2026
• Hourly wage in accordance with Canada Summer Job guidelines
