A Place for Love to Continue
After many months of thoughtful planning, design, and care, Hospice Renfrew is honoured to share the completion of our Wind Phone a quiet, reflective space now nestled in a peaceful corner of our gardens.
Created as a place to say the words left unspoken, the Wind Phone offers comfort to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Whether it is a whisper of love, a final goodbye, or simply a moment to feel close again this phone has no connection except to the heart.
We wanted to create this space because we believe it is important not just for our residents and their families, but for anyone in the community who may be carrying grief. It is a gentle offering of solace, connection, and reflection.
We took great care to ensure the space is wheelchair accessible and placed it in a tranquil area of the gardens, surrounded by nature, where visitors can find calm and comfort.
This project was made possible through the kindness and talents of those who gave so generously. Our heartfelt thanks to Rick Moss, who thoughtfully helped design and build the Wind Phone structure, and to Peggy Pultz, whose donation of the vintage phone helped bring the vision to life.
We invite anyone who is grieving a loss to come and use the Wind Phone. You do not need an appointment, and you do not need the right words just bring your heart.
This has been a true labour of love, and we hope it brings peace to all who visit.
