Gratitude is the emotion of the day. Gratitude from Hospice Renfrew and gratitude of the friends and families of loved ones who have stayed in the local home for end of life palliative care. And that gratitude resulted in over 130 thousand dollars raised at yesterday’s (Sunday) Hike for Hospice at Mateway in Renfrew. Hundreds of walkers from across the Valley participated in the event in memory of those they’ve lost. The annual hike marked the Hospice’s 10th anniversary since opening their doors and proved to be a truly family friendly event with something for everyone following the walk. Hospice Renfrew offers free end of life care to anyone in Renfrew County and relies on donations as well as fundraising to cover many of their operating costs.
