What kind of care does a Hospice provide?

Hospice provides end-of-life care to those who are experiencing a life-threatening or terminal illness. Nursing care with physician support is provided on a 24-hour basis by staff specially trained in palliative care. The focus is on providing pain and symptom management so the care and comfort of patients is provided in a comfortable, home-like setting.

Is Hospice where you go when there is "nothing else to be done"?
Hospice is the "something more" that can be done for the patient and the family when the illness cannot be cured. Hospice provides active compassionate care that focuses on comfort and support of the patient and family.
