“It`s all about caring”
Hospice Renfrew is a comfortable, home-like palliative care residence located in the heart of the town of Renfrew, but serving individuals and families throughout Renfrew County and the surrounding area.
Hospice Renfrew provides end-of-life care to people who are experiencing life-threatening or terminal illness.
Hospice palliative care reflects a centuries-old model of providing care to our loved ones. Dame Cicely Saunders, from Great Britain, led the resurgence of care for the terminally ill in the mid-1960s. The palliative care movement began in Canada in the mid-1970’s and is now known as Hospice Palliative Care with “aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of living and dying”.
Hospice Renfrew provides 24-hour nursing care, with physician support, at no cost to the resident in a tranquil setting where family and friends can be an integral part of the care.
Hospice Renfrew has 6 private bedrooms equipped with special comfortable beds and private washrooms. Each room has a large window that brings the nature of the valley close, with views of gardens, trees, deer, and birds.
“The staff was always there to help you with the transition.
They were like little resting posts you could lean on during this difficult time.”
